Hello 👋

I'm Nicole - Lead UX Designer, mom and nature lover.

Originally from Chile, I'm now in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, creating unique user experiences. I've honed a blend of creativity and analytical skills while working with over 30 clients across 11 industries. My focus? Crafting designs that not only resonate with people but also align with business goals. I thrive on teamwork, smart problem-solving, and making impactful designs.

After graduating in Graphic Design from Universidad Católica of Valparaíso, I dove into the UX world by co-founding a startup named Humming. While I learned a lot about launching and running a business, I yearned for more hands-on design experience. So, I joined Betazeta Networks as a Junior UI Designer. My journey continued at Estupendos, a fast-paced creative hub, and then at Multiplica, where I engaged in Design Thinking. There, I worked on larger-scale projects, developing products for the public sector and understanding the intricacies of financial services.

Moving to the US in 2012 opened new opportunities. I collaborated with teams in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and the US, which was immensely rewarding, particularly when mentoring budding designers. A highlight was my collaboration with LabGob, where I worked on a demo project that involved local communities, researchers, and political stakeholders, exploring methods to enhance government services.

I recently worked at Treez, a startup where I established the UX function from the ground up. Leading the design team and diving into design operations, from implementing Agile methods to strategizing cross-functional collaborations, was one of my favorite challenges, alongside redesigning the Treez product.

Outside of work, I love digging into food systems – I'm part of the @GreeneAcres community garden and even got certified as a Permaculture Designer. And yes, I did some farming at Brooklyn Grange too. It's not just about plants; it's about community.

And then there's my life as a mom to an amazing teen artist. They keep me laughing, inspired, and motivated to make the world a better place for the next generation.
